Desert Mod

Friday, June 10th, 2011
A bride with a mohawk? Hot pink chiavari chairs? And a three-legged dog named Tipsy? STOP IT. Add the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, as much tumbleweed that we could wrangle from the desert, and some mid-century modern flair, and you’ve got Desert Mod.
The tablescape we created was full of big, bold colors – including hot pink chiavari chairs, denim wrapped vases, orange and yellow blooms, and bright chevron patterns. A personalized pink cactus awaits each wedding guest.
The bride wore a champagne gown and sported a mohawk, while her groom wore a bolero tie with a thistle boutonniere. We formed a gigantic heart from tumbleweed, and an interactive “guest book” allowed guests to form messages and pictures with perler beads.
Check out what our amazing team put together, and thank you so much to DESIGN SPONGE for the feature!!!! Enjoy!

Wood inspired Wed

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

This is what happens when you are inspired by wood.  Wood circles for escort cards, wood circles for the centerpieces to set on, wood stumps circles for the dessert display, wood circle for the guest book.  It all went so well with Calamigos Ranch, this outdoor, woodland dream of a venue.  Add to that a DROP DEAD gorgeous bride (love you stacy!) and a perfect mix of KFed (pre weight gain) and Ricky Martin groom, Kevin, we had the picture perfect wedding.  A few of the details:

Ceremony:  Plum fabric strips and lanterns hung from the huge tree, whimsically woodsy rod iron hooks lining the aisle, with a vintage fabric for the runner and add in some beautiful plum florals and a hidden succulent to complete our rich and romantic ceremony site.

Guest Table “numbers”:  We placed a vintage clock at each table set to a certain time.  The guests found their escort “wood circle” with a specific time on it, they had to find the table that had the clock with their time on it to find their seat.  SO FUN.

Menu:  We took a vintage door, added some wooden blocks and then added our specific menu items.

Guest Book:  we used a large tree stump, nailed a ton of long nails into it, added a jar full of skeleton keys with tags attached and asked the guests to scribble their “keys” to a successful marraige on the tag and hang them on the tree stump.  Now Stacy and Kevin have an amazing art piece in their home that will give them wisdom and remind them of their favorite day.

Gabriel and Carlie of Gabriel Ryan Photographers could NOT have been more brilliant behind the lens.

Burlap & Lace

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Rustic venue.  Romantic bride.  Dapper groom.  Burlap.  Lace.  And a touch of blue to spice things up.  Jodie and Nathan knew they wanted to keep things organic to compliment the venue they chose, but also wanted to showcase their funky, fun and modern style just a *touch* in the design of their wedding.  I think it turned out PERFECT.  Obviously, the amazing vendor team didn’t hurt our situation a bit.  Enjoy the story of The Ree-Todd’s :)
